Meet Christy Emanuel, one of our many amazing RBEF volunteers (pictured left with Tulita principal, Andrew Estrada at the Light Up the Night Gala).
We had the opportunity to chat with Christy about why she volunteers and wanted to share highlights of that interview with you.
How long have you been a community volunteer?
I have been a volunteer for my whole life. I started a charity with friends in MD to help get school supplies, and food, to kids in our public schools there. Harnessing the power of Amazon and the community’s willingness to help, we have served thousands of kiddos since we started in 2020.
What inspired you to start volunteering for RBEF?
I began volunteering for RBEF because we were new to the area. I really wanted to become more involved in the school, and meet new people.
What has been your favorite thing about volunteering with RBEF so far?
My favorite thing about volunteering for RBEF so far has been getting to know the awesome community involved. There are so many vibrant, strong women in parentheses (and some men lol) that work really hard for our kids.
