Chemistry, a physical science, is the study of matter and the changes it undergoes, both quantitatively and qualitatively. Emphasis is placed on the development of critical thinking by using the scientific method and laboratory activities. The course is designed to prepare the student for an introductory college chemistry course. ($40 Lab Fee)

Prerequisite: Successful completion of Geometry
Grade Improvement, Credit recovery or Advancement
Meets UC/CSU “C” requirement for A-G

Note: Not recommended for advancement if student plans to pursue AP Science courses in high school. Other qualifications apply if taking for advancement. Please see flyer on page 3.
