Every Drop Counts When You're Raising The Tide

Thursday, February 02, 2012

When you donate to the Redondo Beach Educational Foundation your generosity raises the tide in incredible ways. Your donations fund programs that wouldn’t exist otherwise, provide teacher grants for ambitious ideas that are going unsupported, and empower us to advocate on behalf of your community, your schools, your teachers and your children.

Over the past 6 months, RBEF has helped to bring the gap and fund new programs at all of our campuses! To name a few, an Online Student Career and Course Program which will help our 7th – 12th grade students ensure that they have met all requirements to attend a four year university, A College Readiness Liaison ensuring our students are meeting their A-G requirements, interacting with all of our Counselors and Students at the Elementary, Middle and High School levels, 80 laptop computers provided to Middle and High School campuses to allow us to close the technology divide, Family Science Nights for K -6th grade which is an Interactive Science Family Night at all of our elementary campuses, Music Center Teaching Program by bridging the gap for the program to ensure that our early elementary children receive instruction in the area of music, dance, theatre to name a few. We are further pleased to have been able to return over $62K directly to our teachers in their classrooms that benefits your children directly. This is a sampling but we have done much more!

MAKE WAVES FOR YOUR SCHOOL

Donating to RBEF and listing your child’s school could benefit your school EVEN more. During our $360 fundraising initiative/family beginning in February, the school with the highest percentage of parent participation will win a iPad each week. And when the $360 initiative ends, the four schools with the highest percentage of participation will each receive a cash grant returned to each campus.

REMEMBER,

EVERY DOLLAR IS A DROP.

EVERY DROP RAISES THE TIDE.

PLEASE DONATE YOURS NOW AT RBEF.ORG

Fall Tech and Annual Donor Drive

Thursday, July 07, 2011

The Ed Foundation also wants to thank all the parents and community supporters that gave to the Fall Tech Campaign and Annual Donor Drive last school year. The Tech campaign generated enough funds to give each school campus $2,000 towards new computer equipment. The donor drive in the spring raised over $200,000 to go towards school programs and teacher grants. This money is always dispersed between the elementary, middle and high school campuses. A list of how donor dollars will be used this year will be posted on www.rbef.org in early October.

Congratulations!

Wednesday, June 15, 2011

RBEF also wants to congratulate the students and their families who received laptops from the donor drive opportunity drawing, they are: the Dunham Family; the Hoffman Family; the Prohaska Family; the Quayle Family; the Reback Family; and the Spangler Family.

Please look for our back-to-school flier via email or at your student’s open house! There are many upcoming events and opportunities to get involved with RBEF this new school year.

Here’s to putting student education first!

May 3, 2011 (Redondo Beach, CA) – The Redondo Beach Educational Foundation's "Raising The Tide" annual donor drive concluded last month. Today, announcements were made of the top four schools winning the school grant competition.

The top four schools with the highest percentage participation win a cash grant from RBEF. This year's winners include:

Tulita Elementary (Championship School) $3,000

Jefferson Elementary (1st Runner-Up) $2,000

Alta Vista Elementary (2nd Runner-Up) $1,000

Lincoln Elementary (3rd Runner-Up) $750

The annual donor drive along with the recent poker tournament and corporate sponsorships has brought in over $200,000 this year so far. A separate campaign for local businesses is currently running.

Some RBEF corporate sponsors have helped with specific programs for the school year. AES donated specifically to Parras and Adams Middle School Intramural Sports Program. Wells Fargo Foothill contributed towards new computers and software for each campus, and Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems donated specific dollars towards Redondo Beach Union High School's world-champion robotics team program and district-wide teach grants covering areas in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
